If you do manage to survive traffic trama and make it to the course you will be let off near a bridge that you will walk up to and cross over MacArthur Blvd.. It's about 14 feet and trucks who have been delivering food and other supplies to the various staging areas have not had a problem going under it.
There are several staging areas along Persimmon Tree Road that are cut ins in the fencing for the course. These are guarded and unless you have the right color ID you aren't going to get in. Mainly used for supply the various tents on the course and that amount of tent-age will surprise you if you had attended any of the Tiger Woods 4 of July AT and T tournaments at Congressional.
So you made onto the course...what can you expect....it's not the same place that Tiger Woods worked on for his tournament. Holes have been shortened and in some cases lengthened. You are going to find bunkers and sand all over the place. The US Open doctors have spent about a year working this place over. And it's going to surprise the guys who thought that when tiger re-did this place it was tough. You haven't seen it til you've played it.
